Signs Of Broken Bones
Broken bones (fractures) are usually caused by a fall, blow, or other traumatic event. Bones may also be weakened by diseases like cancer and osteoporosis, which make bones more susceptible to fractures.
What are the signs you have broken bones?
If you have suffered any of those events, check for these signs of possible broken bones:
- Swelling or bruising over the bone
- Obvious deformity of the bone or bone protruding through the skin
- Increased pain in the area when pressed or moved
- Loss of function or inability to move in the affected area
An x-ray may be needed to “see” if a bone is broken.
