When to Get a Sports Physical?
Spring has arrived, and summer is right around the corner. The warmer weather and longer days comes the ability to play tons of sports.
Sports that are commonly played during the spring season include baseball, softball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and track and field. If you or your child is planning on participating in a sport, getting a sports physical is an important part of the preparation process.
What are Sports Physicals?
Sports physicals, also known as a “pre-participation physical,” is a check-up to assess a young person’s ability to play in a sport or participate in an activity.
Most schools and organizations now require a person to pass this physical exam before getting involved in a sport or activity. A sports physical is not, however, as comprehensive as a complete annual exam done by your pediatrician.
